Terms of Use

About these terms
By using US Hikers (https://ushikers.com), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Who operates the site
US Hikers is operated by Oz Systems, based in Australia. We compile and publish trail guides for hikers planning US national park trips.
What the guides are
Our guides are planning references compiled from official sources — primarily the National Park Service, US Forest Service and recreation.gov. Every guide includes a "last verified" date so you know when we checked the facts.
Trail conditions, permits, fees and closures change frequently. Always check the official park page and current weather before you hike. Our guides are not a substitute for official advisories.
No warranties
We work hard to keep the guides accurate, but we provide the site "as is" without warranties of any kind. We are not responsible for errors, outdated information or decisions you make based on the guides. Hiking involves real risks, and you are responsible for your own safety.
Not affiliated with the National Park Service
We are not part of the National Park Service or any other government agency. The guides cite official sources, but we are an independent publication.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Oz Systems is not liable for any damages arising from your use of the site or reliance on the guides, including injuries, accidents or losses during hiking. You assume all risks when you hike.
Affiliate relationships
We may add affiliate links to gear or services in the future. When we do, we will disclose the relationship in the guide where the link appears. Affiliate links do not change the facts or recommendations in the guides.
Intellectual property
The text, layout and design of US Hikers are owned by Oz Systems. You may share links to the guides and quote short excerpts with attribution, but do not copy entire guides or republish them as your own. Hero images are sourced from Wikimedia Commons or similar public repositories, and their licenses are noted in the image credits where applicable.
External links
Our guides link to official sources like nps.gov, recreation.gov and fs.usda.gov. We are not responsible for the content or availability of external sites.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the site evolves. When we make changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Australia. Any disputes will be resolved in Australian courts, but given the nature of the site — it is a free collection of trail guides — we hope disputes never arise.
Contact
If you have questions about these terms, you can reach us at hello@ushikers.com.
We compile trail facts from official sources — the National Park Service, US Forest Service and park permit systems — and cross-check distance, elevation gain and permit rules before publishing. Every guide shows the date it was last verified. We are hikers writing for hikers; we are not a government agency and our guides are planning references, not a substitute for current official trail and weather advisories.
